Topic Title – BIPOC

I come from a family of 5 children and a single mother. 1 child, I’ve never met before. I possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Studies and Planning and a Masters Degree in Public Administration with a minor in Public Management and Policy Analysis.

I was ‘diagnosed’ with a ‘chemical imbalance’ when I was 15 years old, but I’ve been suffering from depression and anxiety since I was about 10 years old. I have suffered trauma after trauma and as a woman, it’s very challenging to commune within this world that tells you and ‘shows’ you through governmental and healthcare practices regarding the treatment of African American women. I stand today to tell my story and to continue to heal from cultural and racial traumas
